OCF/RAW Adventures Cycle Challenge
At the start of October 2010 I was the tour leader on a cycling tour through the rugged and remote mountains of the far north of Vietnam. The group came together to raise money for OCF, the Oncology Childrens Foundation.
We covered approximately 500 kms on some hellish roads that wound their way up over mountains, through valleys and above massive gorges. We ate rice with stringy vegetables and miscellaneous meat and drowned the pain at the end of the day in Hanoi beer.
To the locals decked out in their hilltribe finery we must have looked like aliens and I was never too sure who seemed more aghast at the costumes either team wore.
All participants completed an arduous yet incredible journey and the money raised helps a great cause.
