Vung Tau, Vietnam

Vung Tau 23 - 25 April 2011

The weekend that just passed was important for a number of reasons and for those that visited Vung Tau was divided in to various parts. As an Australian living abroad the components that made it special, 1) The Vietnam Swans were playing the Hong Kong Dragons in AFL football match on the Lord Mayors Oval. This was the place that Australian soldiers played football during the war years. 2) Tours were being conducted to various war sites that Australians were involved in and 3) The Dawn Service to remember fallen Australian and New Zealand soldiers from all wars was held at the cross at Long Tan the scene of Australia hardest won battle in Vietnam.

Over a few days I will be posting many photographs from this weekend. Some pictures are taken along the beach in Vung Tau of the fishermen others from the football match and it's formalities, from the gala dinner held at Petro House and also images I took during the Dawn Service.

All these photographs will be available for sale at http://asianimages-adammartin.smugmug.com/ in a few days time.
