The Temples of Angkor

How can any nation build such magnificence that has stood for a thousand years be the same country that is more renowned for it's hideous recent history? If I had one super power it would be to be able to pop back in time to see what this ancient civilization looked like in full swing. As a caveat for my super power, I would also be able to take along a digital camera.

All these photographs were taken at The Bayon on my Mum's birthday February 13 and at Ta Prohm, Siem Reap, Cambodia.

The face is said to be a composite of Buddha & Jayavarman VII at The Bayon, Angkor Thom.
