Tham Khong Lor, Laos
Coming
out of the subterranean night into the light, back to the mouth of Tham Khong Lor
having travelled 12 kms return underground in a boat with headlamps swivelling around in the darkness like searchlights during the Blitz. At the other end
of the cave we ventured to a village to see the preparations for Ban Xe
Fai - the rocket festival. We arrived on a tractor driven by a boy that
looked 8 and told us he was 16. Rice wine in 36 degree heat does not
promote good health.
